"Steve Wasserman moved back to Olean in 2024 after a decade of volunteer work at an orphanage in Cozumel, Mexico. Steve has become a friend of Interfaith Caregivers and has this to say about the Senior Volunteer Transportation Program. “ When I came back from Cozumel I needed to get established at doctors’ and a dentist office. Volunteers from Interfaith Caregivers picked me up for my appointments and brought me home each time. I had no other option to get to these appointments.”
Penelope “Penny” Tappan lives on the Duke Center- Eldred Road. Recently she had knee replacement surgery and was prescribed 6-8 weeks of physical therapy after surgery. She was not able to drive herself to therapy and called Interfaith Careigvers for assistance. Penelope says, “ I would recommend Interfaith Caregivers to anyone in need of transportation services for medical appointments. They care, their volunteers are always on time;they take you and bring you back home. I had no other way to get to therapy until I was able to regain driving ability for myself. Interfaith Caregivers Board Member Molly Vaughan: “"A single ride can change a life. In the Southern Tier, where transportation options are limited, your support helps Interfaith Caregivers Inc. provide free, reliable rides for seniors and neighbors with disabilities. Donate today and 'Adopt-A-Ride'—every mile brings dignity, independence, and care."
